Parents, educators, physicians, and researchers began to question what the impact of these changes might be† (qtd in The Effect of Video Games: What Parents Need to Know). Thus, for the past decades, video games have become the subject of many controversial debates and they have been â€Å"frequently criticized by parents, politicians, and sociologists.† However, their arguments against video games have overshadowed the importance of playing video games. In reality, playing video games can greatly contribute to the welfare of the American society. Video games are educationally beneficial for children. In the article â€Å"Effect of Video Games: What Parents Need to Know†, Dr. Douglas clearly stated that â€Å"video games are natural teachers.
